Main purpose: To manage compliance to the OHS Act and related legislation as well as standards by application, implementation and/or maintenance of occupational health and safety programs and practices that promote a healthy and safe work environment.

Minimum qualification and experience: B Degree in Health and Safety Environment/ Operations/ Management or equivalent (NQF 7). ISO 45001 Certificate would be an added advantage. Five years’ experience in Occupational Health and Safety, of which two years’ is at a supervisory/ management level.

Key performance areas (Include but not limited to): OHS Planning. Advise and support the SIU on OHS matters. Implement and monitor OHS regulations, policies and procedures. OHS Management. Prevention and Awareness. Reporting. Staff supervision.

Technical skills: Organisational skills. Exceptional communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Project Management. Computer skills (MS Office).

Required knowledge and Behavioural (include but not limited to): In-depth knowledge of OHS Act, Occupational Injuries and Disease Act and other relevant legislation and standards. Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment. Attention to detail. Results driven. Resilience. Sound judgement and decision making.
